Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would put her at least in the eyes of America, into the class of child prodigies. Maureen excelled at sports and was a lover of rough play. She combined this interest with an equally natural aptitude to perform. At the age of 14, the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her passion for classical theatre and singing opera.
